Online Advent Calendar

As Advent begins this Sunday with Advent Sunday celebrated in Churches, we would like to share this online Advent Calendar with you, produced by the Diocese of Guildford. It explores the Christmas story through Christian artwork, investigating a different artist and aspect of the story throughout the term time days of Advent. Please enjoy sharing this with your family as we prepare for Christmas in school and at home.

Home Learning

All of the children will have an investigative topic-linked learning task to complete, which is rotated over a three-week cycle. The children will focus on one of their three current foundation subjects each week.
To support this, the children are split into 3 groups, which you can see below.
This will be set on a Thursday and due by the following Tuesday.
In class on a Tuesday or Wednesday, the children will then share the outcomes of their research, and the knowledge they have retrieved, within their own group.

Week Beginning 8th December

PE will now take place on Mondays and Tuesdays for the remainder of Term 2.

We’ve had a fabulous week of learning in Shropshire 2!

In maths, the children have started their learning of multiplication and division. We have been focusing on grouping items into equal groups and using our key word commutative to explain our reasoning and understanding.

In English, the children have been been planning our persuasive posters to encourage others to save the environment and plan more trees to save animals habitats. Especially the homes of the Last Wolf, Last Lynx and Last Bear from our key text this term.

In Science, we’ve been learning all about how plants can adapt to protect themselves and survive. We drew different plants into our books and labelled with the different adaptions we have been learning about, such as thorns, stings, camouflage and hairs.

We have been busy practicing our nativity 'Lights Camel Action'! We can't wait to show you all of our hard work next week!

Thank you for your continued support and efforts with the home learning foundation tasks they look great showcased in our whole class books!

Have a lovely weekend,
