Happy Easter everybody and enjoy the break!
PE will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays for Term 5.
This week, Shropshire Class have continued to build on their learning with great focus and enthusiasm.
In Maths, we have continued exploring fractions of shapes and numbers, using the method of sharing circles to help us understand how amounts can be split into equal parts. The children also challenged themselves by working backwards—looking at a fraction and finding the whole amount, which showed great reasoning skills.
In English, we completed our learning on Starbird by writing a reimagined ending to the story. The children used their creativity to think about how the story could end differently, applying the descriptive skills they have developed over the term.
In Science, we described what plants need to grow, discussing key factors such as water, sunlight, air and nutrients. The children were able to explain why each of these is important for healthy plant growth.
In Geography, we learned about the life and achievements of Captain James Cook. The children explored his voyages and discoveries, and discussed why he is an important figure in history.
In Design and Technology, we were very proud to complete our beach huts. The children finished constructing and decorating their designs, showing great care and creativity in their final pieces.
It has been a wonderful week of learning, and the children should be very proud of all they have achieved! 🌟
