Year 3-4 Quick Sticks Hockey
On Tuesday evening we took part in the Quick Sticks Hockey at Hawkenbury Recreation Ground. There were seventeen schools attending in what proved to be a very competitive competition. We were in group four and played St Peters, St Matthews and Yalding in our pool. The team rotated throughout the games and we had some brilliant performances with early goals from Milo and Henry. At the end of our pool games we won against Yalding, drew against St Peters and lost to St Matthews. We then played in the runner’s up pool having come 2nd in our group and played Paddock Wood and Wadhurst. In three very competitive matches we had some excellent passing from the whole team managing to beat Paddock Wood 2-0, draw with St John’s 1-1 but lose to Wadhurst 0-2. Neve and Max defended brilliantly in the final two games and Jake and Bay’s passing was accurate throughout with both making a couple of scoring passes. Ava, Kayla and Neve moved fluently with the ball and Emma made some superb long ball passes.
In the end we finished in 7th position out of 17 schools in a very competitive competition and showed lots of resilience throughout the matches. Well done everyone!
Well done to the whole team involved in the Hockey Competition. The pupils were: Jake, Bay, Henry, Max, Milo, Ava, Kayla, Neve and Emma.
