PE will take place on Tuesday in Term 6.
Forest school will take place on Thursday mornings. Please can children come to school dressed in appropriate forest school clothes.
This week marked our final full week in Year 2, and what a wonderful week it has been! The children have continued to work incredibly hard while enjoying some memorable experiences together.
In Maths, we have been revisiting and consolidating our understanding of time. The children practised reading analogue clocks, telling the time to 5-minute intervals and using the strategies they have learned throughout the year. It has been fantastic to see how much confidence they have gained as they prepare for Year 3.
In English, we planned, wrote and performed our own interview scripts based on our class text Leaf. The children took on the role of Leaf, asking and answering thoughtful questions about his experiences and the events of the story. They performed their scripts with great confidence and expression, showcasing the speaking, listening and writing skills they have developed this year.
The highlight of the week was undoubtedly our fantastic school trip to Wilderness Woods. The children had an amazing day exploring the natural environment and taking part in a range of exciting, creative and hands-on activities. They worked brilliantly together, showed excellent behaviour throughout the visit and embraced every opportunity to learn outdoors. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces and such enthusiasm for exploring nature.
As we come to the end of our final full week in Year 2, we would like to say how incredibly proud we are of everything the children have achieved this year. They have grown in confidence, resilience and independence, and it has been a privilege to watch them flourish.
We look forward to enjoying our final week together and celebrating a fantastic year of learning. 🌟🍃
