Term 4 Week 3 Investigative Topic Task

Geography- Bright Lights, Big City!

This week in geography, we learned about the British artist Stephen Wiltshire and how he draws city scenes from memory. In one of our upcoming geography lessons, we will be comparing cities, so to prepare for this can you pick a city of your choice and have a go at drawing a part of it from memory.

This task is split into 'key challenges', so everyone in your class can choose at least one part to work on. You can pick the keys that feel right for you. Most children will try to complete all of the keys, but you can challenge yourself by choosing the ones that make you think harder and help you learn more about the topic. Be curious and do your best!

Discover 4-6 words related to your city of choice.

Draw a cityscape from memory.

Write a fact about your chosen city.

Can you draw your cityscape in the style of another artist that we've looked at (Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso) or an artist you like?

Reading

RWI books will be sent home on Friday. Please return them the following Thursday so your child can receive a new book on Friday.

Please ensure you hear your child read regularly and record on Boom Reader using the parent app on your tablet/mobile at least once a week:

You can record their school reading book or a book they are enjoying from home.
