The Pupil Premium is an allocation of funding for children from low-income families who are eligible, or have been eligible in the past 6 years, for free school meals (FSM). In addition, we also receive funding for children who are looked after and/or under the care of the local authority (LAC) and are on the school role for more than 6 months. Every school receives ‘pupil premium funding’ based on the number of children they have who are/have been eligible for FSM and current ‘looked after’ children.
The PPG (Pupil Premium Grant) enables children to be supported in a range of ways depending on need, with the majority of the funding paying for additional 1 to 1 and small group work using personalised programmes or specific interventions. The focus of this is on literacy and numeracy teaching with further support given to address the social, emotional and behavioural needs of individual children. This provision includes counselling, lunchtime clubs and extra curricular activities.
The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) for the financial year 2019-2020 is £1320 per pupil and £2300 for children who are looked after (LAC).
The Pupil Premium Grant (PPG) for the financial year April 2019- March 2020 is £1320 per pupil and £2300 for children who are looked after (LAC).
