Week beginning Monday 5th October
This week, Year 6 have been working hard to use their times table knowledge to support their understanding of short and long division. We have looked at the bus stop method and using factors to help us break down division questions into smaller calculations.
In English, the children have worked hard to write a narrative based on a poem. They have successfully incorporated a range of fronted adverbials, parenthesis, figurative language and expanded noun phrases to create some very suspenseful pieces of writing!
In Geography, the class enjoyed using a map of Tunbridge Wells to look at the topography of the area and give directions to a lost explorer. We thought about what physical features they may come across on their journey and applied our knowledge of cardinal compass points.
