Year 1 Home Learning
For this week, personalised phonics packs will be coming home with your child. The sounds or sets of sounds that your child needs to focus on will be highlighted within the pack. Please try to work on these, we recommend short, frequent sessions of no longer than 10 minutes. If you are unsure of the sounds, please use the QR codes below.
We would love your child to pick one of their sound focuses and draw a picture, e.g. 'oa' the goat is in a boat on the moat! Thank you for your continued support, we are proud of how hard the children are working.

This week in Cheshire Class, we have been very busy with our learning. In English, we created a friend for our lonely beast and used a range of adjectives to describe it. We then wrote a persuasive letter, explaining why we would make a good friend for the beast.
In Maths, we have started our work on fractions, focusing on finding one half of both shapes and quantities.
In Science, we have been learning about the different parts of a plant and their functions.
In History, we explored aerial photographs and used them to help us create our own maps of the school.
For this week’s home learning, please continue using the packs that were sent home last week. It has been wonderful to hear from parents about the positive impact they have been having.
Please don't forget that this term we have Forest School on Thursday afternoons! Additionally the QR codes for the RWInc sounds have been updated, please use these to help your child with the sounds.
