Year 1 Home Learning
For this week and for over half term, an additional phonics pack will be coming home with your child. The pack includes mostly split digraphs, trigraphs and some digraphs that the children can find tricky. Please try to work on these, we recommend short, frequent sessions of no longer than 10 minutes. If you are unsure of the sounds, please use the QR codes below.

This week in Cheshire, the children have been creating their own stories based on the book Journey. It was lovely to read their imaginative narratives!
In Maths, we have been consolidating previous learning on fractions, looking at half and a quarter of a quantity using manipulatives.
We have also enjoyed Science Week, where the children carried out a fun Skittles experiment to investigate which type of water made the colours run the fastest. It was great fun!
We are looking forward to our church service on Friday morning.
Please don't forget that this term we have Forest School on Thursday afternoons! Additionally the QR codes for the RWInc sounds have been updated, please use these to help your child with the sounds.
Have a wonderful half term break. Where possible, please continue to practise sounds with your children little and often. RWI books will be sent home at the end of the week along with some additional practice sheets. These practice sheets do not need to be returned, but please do use them for extra practice.
