Online Advent Calendar
As Advent begins this Sunday with Advent Sunday celebrated in Churches, we would like to share this online Advent Calendar with you, produced by the Diocese of Guildford. It explores the Christmas story through Christian artwork, investigating a different artist and aspect of the story throughout the term time days of Advent. Please enjoy sharing this with your family as we prepare for Christmas in school and at home.
Curriculum Overview

What a wonderful week of learning we've had across the curriculum!
🔢 Maths:
This week, we successfully wrapped up our topic on Place Value to 20. The children demonstrated great skills in:
Comparing Numbers: Determining which number is greater than or less than another.
Ordering Numbers: Arranging a set of numbers sequentially up to 20.
✍️ English:
Our writing this week was split between fiction and non-fiction:
Goldilocks' Birthday: The children used their imaginations to write a creative piece all about a birthday party for Goldilocks! They focused on describing the fun activities and food.
Den Making Recount: We wrote a detailed recount of our art/DT lesson, focusing on how we made our dens. The children worked hard on sequencing the steps of the process.
🎨 Design & Technology (DT):
The children loved getting hands-on this week as they made dens in DT! This practical activity allowed them to explore structures and materials, which then provided the perfect subject for our English recount.
🌍 Geography: Features of Our School
In Geography, we became explorers! We went on an exciting trip around the school grounds to identify different features, focusing on the differences between:
Physical Features: Things that are natural (like trees, grass, etc.).
Human Features: Things that people have built (like the playground, buildings, paths, etc.).
📢 Important PE Kit Notice for Parents
Please note the following important information regarding PE Kits:
PE Kits will be returned this Friday.
Do not bring them in for the last week of term.
The children will not need their PE kits for the final week.
