The children are performing the poem ‘Plum Tree (Summer)’ from Cherry Moon, a book of poems about nature.

Another wonderful week of learning in Cheshire!

 

In Science we have been exploring the weather, particularly wind. The children enjoyed making windsocks and learning how to measure different types of wind strength.

 

In English, we have been writing a fact file about hummingbirds, writing about what they look like, what they eat and where they fly to.

 

In Maths, we have been exploring mass and learning how to weigh objects using measuring scales.

 

In Geography, the children explored the work of the artist Stephen Wiltshire and challenged themselves to draw a London landmark from memory. I was so impressed with their drawings and attention to detail. 

Thank you to the wonderful mothers who were able to attend our Mother’s Day celebration and learn more about the strategies we use for learning in class. I hope you all have a lovely Mother’s Day celebration on Sunday.

 

Please note that PE is on Thursday and Friday.

Curriculum resources to use at home

  • Computing Coding Game We have been using this game in our computing lessons; discussing algorithms and how we can make choices on the computer. Here is the link as the children wanted the option of continuing at home.
