Spirituality Home Learning Project

Please see this document for details of an exciting whole school project that we would like the children and families to take part in for home learning over the half term break. 

We would like children to bring their findings in to school by Wednesday 29​​^th October please.

Forest School- Term 2

Please note on a Thursday afternoon this term, Cheshire 1 will have Forest School; they will need to wear long-sleeve, warm clothes with wellies and mud suits.

w/c 13th October

This week, the children in Cheshire 1 have been actively engaged across all areas of the curriculum.

In Mathematics, we have focused on strengthening foundational number skills. The children consolidated their understanding of addition number sentences and moved on to learning about basic subtraction. We discovered if you take some objects away, you have a lesser amount. 

Our English lessons this week included looking at a new book, Toys in Space by Mini Grey. We have been exploring how the emotions of the characters change throughout the book and why this is. At the end of the story we were pleased that Hoctopize was cheerful because he eventually finds his favourite toy Cuddles. 

In Art, we finished delving into colour theory. The children used primary and secondary coloured paints to complete their Mondrian inspired work. Once our artwork was complete, we created a class art gallery and discussed what was good about each other’s work. 

In Science we carried out some simple experiments to determine which was the best material for Zog’s coat. We tested different materials on whether they were waterproof, flexible and strong. 

It's been a productive week, and we're so proud of their hard work and enthusiasm!

PE (Cheshire 1)
This Term PE will be on Friday.
