Term 1 Reading Champions

Year Five

Henry, Rudy, Jemima, Jackson, Oscar N and Oscar B were term 1's Reading Champions. In Term 1 they read a selection of texts across a wide range of genres, meeting up once a week to review and discuss their responses to these texts. They read picture books for younger children, non-fiction anthologies, graphic novels and traditional chapter books. For their project, they dived into High-Rise Mystery by Sharna Jackson and conducted their very own murder investigation.

Year Six

Joseph, Isla, Luke, Louie, Riley and Selena were Term 1 Reading Champions. They collected a selection of texts and talked about how important reading truly is. The Reading Champions met once a week to reviewed and discussed their texts. They all voted for their favourite book in the Discovery Centre and we decided to bring James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl to life!
