Refuge

National Poetry Day is the mass celebration of poetry that takes place on the first Thursday in October each year. Everyone is encouraged to write, perform or share poetry with friends and family. Across the UK, schools and libraries engage in activities to celebrate poetry's power to bring people together.

This year's theme for National Poetry Day was 'Refuge'. Children across the country were invited to find or write a poem inspired by the word 'refuge'. At Southborough, each class read a poem relating to refuge and wrote their own poems which can be found on our newsletter...
