Weekly Menu 15th April - 19th April 2024 (Printable)

Please be aware that we are a nut free school.

Here at Southborough Church of England Primary School we have our own in-house kitchen which is run by Independent Catering who prepare and cook a range of delicious and healthy meals.  Each day there is a main meal option, vegetarian option, jacket potato with a range of fillings, plain pasta with a choice of toppings including fresh tomato sauce and cheese, freshly baked bread and a new stand-alone salad bar which offers an increasing number and variety of different fresh salad items. Both the bread and fresh salad can be chosen in addition to your meal option.  We encourage all of our children to have school lunches for all or part of the week as we have seen how our children will enjoy a wider repertoire of food types if they are eating with their peers.

The current price for a meal is £2.45 per day.

Free School Lunches

The way in which schools are funded has changed and it is therefore very important for the school to record children who are eligible for free school meals accurately.  If you or your partner receive one of the following; Income Support, Income-based Jobseeker's Allowance, Income-related Employment and Support allowance, your child may be eligible for a free school meal. Being registered as eligible for free school meals does not mean that your child has to have a school meal every day or indeed at all.  However, it does mean that the school receives funding which will support your child’s learning.  If you do wish your child to have a free school lunch, please be reassured there is no distinction made in the dinner registers and the children are unaware who receives a free school meal.  Even if you complete the form for us to access the funding it remains confidential information.  If you feel you may be eligible to claim please click on the link below to complete the form or contact the school office.
