Southborough Church of England Primary School is an expanding three form entry primary school which includes an Early Years Department, a Lower School and an Upper School on one site with one Headteacher.  We have the luxury of separate and specially designed play areas and superb grounds.  Our dedicated and enthusiastic team of staff are committed to encouraging all our pupils to achieve to the best of their ability. We are a large and expanding school but we try to ensure all children benefit from the positives of a smaller school, such as being treated as individuals and part of a close family, whilst drawing on the benefits of a wide range of staff expertise and enhanced resources that a bigger school facilitates.

If you are successful in your application and your child starts at Southborough, it is very important to us that, as early as possible in your child’s education, strong links are forged between home and school.  You are your children's very first teacher and we want to learn from you about your child. Before they start school, virtual consultations and a virtual home visit will be offered where Reception staff will find out about your child so they can start to plan around their interests and strengths. Taster sessions and a staggered start to school ensure our children are happy and thrive in their new environment.

We feel that on-going constructive contact and co-operation between parents and teachers throughout your child's time with us is vital to ensure their progress and success in all aspects of learning. Parent evenings are held twice a year when you are invited discuss your child's progress with their Class Teacher, however there are many other informal opportunities to talk to your class teacher should you need to.

You are encouraged to become involved in life and learning at Southborough and support us in any way you can from becoming a parent volunteer to being part of the PTA and raising funds to further enhance our provision.

A weekly newsletter is produced to give you information about activities that have taken place across the school that week, reminders and news about future events.  These newsletters and other notices are sent via ParentMail, information on which is included in our admission pack, it is therefore important that the school holds your current e-mail address.

Southborough school has a very strong parent community and our children benefit hugely from close partnership with you. We look forward to you joining our happy and successful school.

"Every lesson is fun because the teachers are nice and encouraging. They help you to be the best you can possibly be. You can be yourself, we are all unique."
