Assessment Information

The National Curriculum provides level descriptions for pupils in each subject which set out what your child should know, understand and be able to do.  In class, the teacher will assess your child’s work throughout the term and will liaise with you as to how your child is progressing.

We assess, monitor and track all children’s progress from Reception to Year 6.  This is formally done by the Senior Management Team and Class Teachers three times a year.  We review all aspects of their development including their academic progress.  We review what academic progress is made and whether children are on track to meet the end of year targets (expected levels at the end of each Key Stage). Actions from these reviews are then carried out as necessary eg booster support, intervention or extension programmes.
